In an effort to encourage the development, exploration and dissemination of innovative projects that advance medical science, in 2021, Gilead Sciences established the Swiss Fellowship Program to award scientific grants to projects in five disease areas – HIV, Liver Disease, Oncology, Cell Therapy and invasive Fungal Infections.
Since then, Gilead Sciences Switzerland awarded almost 1 million CHF to around 30 different research projects across Switzerland with the common objective to help patients with life-threatening diseases.
Innovative projects can help generate reproducible models and promote best practices in the delivery of patient-centered care. The evidence generated should provide the opportunity to shape public health policy, medical science, clinical practice and care pathways, but also enable new studies and collaborations in Switzerland.
Gilead is committed to supporting local initiatives that ultimately improve patient care and advance medical science. Where applicable, projects with an implementation of patient feedback will be prioritized.
